DIGESETT Director announces increased traffic enforcement in Azua
General Pascual Cruz Méndez, director of the General Directorate of Transit and Land Transportation (DIGESETT), led a community meeting in Azua to address local concerns regarding traffic and road safety. The event, titled ‘La DIGESETT escucha’, was organized by Azua Mayor Rafael Hidalgo Fernández and attended by regional authorities, including Governor Minerva Navarro and Deputy Minister of Interior and Police Wendy Zapata.
Community leaders and residents raised issues such as the need for increased agent presence at major intersections, improved road safety education for motorcyclists, and the installation of speed reducers in high-risk areas.
In response, General Cruz Méndez committed to deploying additional agents, motorized units, and a tow truck to the province. He also announced upcoming road safety education programs for schools and motorcycle operators, alongside stricter controls on heavy vehicle circulation.
