DIGESETT launches pilot traffic plan for schools in Moca

The General Directorate of Transit and Land Transport (DIGESETT) is launching a pilot plan to organize vehicular traffic around educational centers in Moca, Dominican Republic. The initiative aims to reduce congestion and improve road safety during student arrival and dismissal hours.

DIGESETT Director General Pascual Cruz Méndez coordinated the plan through meetings with Moca Mayor Guarocuya Cabral, Espaillat Governor Patricia Muñoz, and councilman Gabriel Rivas. The pilot program will specifically involve the Educare, María Auxiliadora, Don Bosco, and COSPIN schools, including the coordination of school bus routes.

Authorities also addressed the safety concern of students traveling on motorcycles without protective helmets. Discussions were held with Attorney General Yeni Berenice Reynoso to explore joint solutions involving enforcement, prevention, and road safety education within schools.
