Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have released the final trailer and poster for ‘Digger,’ a satirical black comedy directed by Academy Award winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu. The film marks Iñárritu’s first English-language feature since ‘The Revenant’ and Tom Cruise’s first project under his new deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.
Tom Cruise undergoes a significant physical transformation to play Digger Rockwell, a billionaire oil tycoon with a thick Southern accent, a potbelly, and combed-over white hair. The plot follows Rockwell as he attempts to prove he is humanity’s savior following an ecological disaster caused by his own company—a crisis that threatens to escalate into a global catastrophe.
The ensemble cast includes Riz Ahmed, John Goodman, Sandra Hüller, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jesse Plemons, Sophie Wilde, and Emma D’Arcy. The film was shot entirely in VistaVision. ‘Digger’ is scheduled for international release starting September 30, 2026, with a North American theatrical and IMAX release on October 2, 2026.
