DIGI Belgium launches ultra‑low‑price mobile and fiber broadband plans

DIGI Belgium, a joint venture between Romania's Digi and Belgium's Citymesh, entered the Belgian telecom market in December 2024. The operator introduced a highly competitive mobile offering that includes 5 GB of data and unlimited calls and SMS for €3 per month, and a 60 GB package for €9 per month. It also rolled out fixed‑line internet services with three fiber tiers: Fiber Essentials at €10 / month (up to 500 Mbps), Fiber Max at €15 / month (up to 1 Gbps) and Fiber Ultimate at €20 / month (up to 10 Gbps). A 5G Home Internet alternative is available for €7 / month. DIGI pledged to keep prices unchanged through 2026, contrasting with incumbent operators Proximus, Telenet, Orange Belgium and Scarlet, whose comparable plans cost significantly more. Partnerships with retailers such as bpost and a nationwide sales network support the launch, aiming to pressure established providers with transparent, low‑cost services.
