Digi expands broadband options with 5G home internet in Portugal and new router lineup in Spain

In Portugal, telecom operator Digi introduced a fixed‑line 5G broadband service called "Net Fixa 5G" that offers unlimited internet for €5 a month. The plan provides up to 50 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload, uses a supplied router that must stay at the registered address, and includes a three‑month minimum commitment. Customers can add Digi TV for an additional €10, bringing the combined internet and TV package to €15 per month, and can switch to fibre if it becomes available.

In Spain, Digi detailed the router models it installs based on the type of fibre connection and the chosen tariff. Customers on the company's own Smart fibre network receive Wi‑Fi 7 all‑in‑one routers with integrated ONT for higher‑speed plans (750 Mbps, 1 Gbps, 10 Gbps), such as the ZTE F6705 or ZTE F8748. Those on the indirect NEBA (Movistar) network or on lower‑speed Smart plans receive Wi‑Fi 6 routers that require a separate ONT, with models like the Comtrend VG‑8032u, TP‑Link EX520v, or Zyxel EX3501. Router selection depends on the customer's address and the specific broadband package subscribed.
