Digi implements extra charges amid customer churn

Telecommunications operator Digi has introduced several new charges and fee increases as it faces rising customer churn, which currently exceeds half of its new subscriptions.

According to reports, the company has begun charging for equipment that was previously included in service plans. Since October 8, new customers must pay 1.50 euros monthly for television decoder rental and 0.50 euros for a landline terminal. Additionally, the optional television supplement for the basic package with a decoder has increased from 7 to 8.50 euros per month, a 21% rise.

Other adjustments include a significant increase in early termination penalties, which rose from 60 to 100 euros in April. Router fees have also seen increases since May for users on certain speed tiers. Despite these changes, the company's CEO in Spain, Marius Varzaru, has maintained a commitment to not increase base tariffs through 2026.
