DIGI Spain doubles Fibra SMART speed to 2 Gbps

DIGI Spain has announced that its Fibra SMART service is doubling its speed from 1 Gbps to 2 Gbps while maintaining the monthly price of 20 euros. The update, effective August 25, applies automatically to many existing users depending on their current router and XGS-PON coverage availability.

New customers can contract the 2 Gbps service, which includes an XGS-PON router with Wi-Fi 7 technology. For existing 1 Gbps customers, the upgrade may require a router replacement to access the higher speeds. To fully utilize the 2 Gbps connection, devices must be equipped with compatible hardware, such as 2.5 Gbps Ethernet ports or specific adapters, as standard Gigabit Ethernet ports are limited to 1 Gbps.

DIGI's SMART fiber network has been recognized by Ookla as the fastest fiber network in Spain for over five consecutive years, noted for its low latency.
