Digi Spain Telecom IPO falls 8% in debut, raises €287 million

Digi Spain Telecom, the Spanish subsidiary of Romania‑based Digi Communications, listed on the Madrid Stock Exchange on 16 July 2026. The offer price was set at €5.60 per share, giving an initial market capitalisation of about €1.66 billion. The placement attracted roughly €287 million – €150 million from a primary capital increase and €137 million from a secondary sale – and may be expanded to €330 million through a greenshoe option.

Shares opened at €6, up 7% from the issue price, but the rally reversed and the stock closed at €5.15, an 8.04% decline – the worst debut on Spain’s market in 11 years. More than 50 institutional investors participated, with Global Portfolio Investments serving as anchor investor, committing €100 million for a 6% stake. Digi Romania retained around 80% of the equity.

The proceeds are earmarked for expanding Digi’s fibre‑optic network and mobile infrastructure in Spain, with planned investments of about €400 million and revenue targets of €1.04‑1.09 billion for 2026. The company announced no dividend until at least 2030 and said the IPO validates its long‑term business plan without affecting customers.
