DIGIC Pictures placed on tax blacklist due to significant debt

DIGIC Pictures, the international visual effects studio co-founded by the late film producer Andy Vajna and visual effects expert Sándor Alex Rabb, has been placed on the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) blacklist. The company has accumulated a tax debt of at least 100 million forints lasting over 180 days.

Financial reports indicate the studio has faced substantial losses over the last three years, totaling approximately 5.2 billion forints. The company's ownership has undergone several changes since Vajna's death in 2019; in 2023, the Swedish Embracer Group acquired the studio, and it is currently directly owned by Saber Cayman Ltd., an entity registered in the Cayman Islands.

DIGIC Pictures is known for its work on major international projects, including visual effects for 'Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines' and cinematic animations for global video game franchises such as 'Assassin’s Creed', 'The Witcher 3', and 'Call of Duty'. The studio employs over 300 people and operates primarily through foreign orders.
