DIGISOST. OLI project to study digital impact on olive oil production
The DIGISOST. OLI research project has launched to investigate the impact of digital technology on the olive oil production model in Andalusia, Spain. Coordinated by IFAPA in collaboration with the University of Córdoba and the University of Granada, the four-year study aims to analyze how digital tools transform management in olive groves and mills.
The project consists of three primary work lines: conducting research through a Living Lab in real production environments, evaluating the environmental, economic, and social sustainability of digitally produced olive oil, and studying the factors and barriers that influence technology adoption among industry stakeholders. Additionally, the project intends to use its findings to co-design public policies with administration and industry agents to ensure a more inclusive and sustainable digital transition.
