Digital and computational pathology workshop held in Salvador
The 2nd Digital and Computational Pathology Workshop was held in Salvador, Brazil, to discuss technological advancements in pathology, diagnosis, research, and education. Coordinated by Fiocruz, the event brought together experts from biomedical sciences, computer science, and engineering to explore the integration of artificial intelligence, image processing, and multimodal models in clinical applications.
During the 35th Brazilian Congress of Pathology, Fiocruz Bahia researcher Karine Damasceno received the SBP Poster Category Award for her work titled ‘Multiplex Immunofluorescence and Digital Pathology Reveal VCAN-Associated CAF Signatures in Colorectal Cancer’. This research was a collaboration with the Integrated Pathology Unit at the Institute of Cancer Research in the United Kingdom, facilitated by the CAPES-PrInt Internationalization Program.
