Ghana hosts DASA 2026 summit to bridge digital asset gap with Francophone Africa

The Digital Assets Summit Africa (DASA) 2026, held in Accra, Ghana, brought together over 1,000 participants, including central bank officials, investors, and technology founders. The summit focused on central bank regulations and the tokenization of real-world assets under the theme ‘From Policy to Prosperity.’

A major outcome of the summit was a strategic initiative to bridge the gap between Anglophone and Francophone Africa regarding digital asset innovation. Angela Akua Asante, Strategic Communications Advisor at African Media Agency (AMA), called for an end to the historic divide that often excludes Francophone stakeholders from major technological gatherings in Ghana.

To facilitate this, AMA Ghana is working to serve as a bilingual bridge to connect Anglophone hubs with French-speaking markets. This effort aims to address Africa’s $74 billion trade finance deficit and $7 billion in unrealized trade revenue in West Africa through improved strategic communication. The initiative includes collaboration with the Togo-based Hyver Organization to reach tech leaders in Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Senegal, and Togo.
