Digital commerce and payment integration expand across Kenya and Nigeria
At Glovo Kenya’s Future of Commerce Summit, industry leaders discussed how system integration drives digital commerce growth. Jaza Supermarket utilizes direct API connections with Glovo to automate order transfers from platforms like WhatsApp and M-PESA, reducing manual entry and cancellations. Kuku Foods, which operates KFC outlets in Kenya, is leveraging Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software and AI tools like Microsoft Copilot to unify stock and sales data for better forecasting.
Visa East Africa highlighted payment solutions such as Visa Accept and Visa Pay to support small businesses and cross-border transactions. These digital records are noted as essential for helping lenders assess business creditworthiness.
In Nigeria, Glovo has entered a strategic partnership with Verve International, a subsidiary of Interswitch Group. The collaboration aims to increase the adoption of cashless payments by offering discounts to customers using Verve cards on the Glovo platform. The partnership includes the Verve Goodlife Promo, which provides savings and rewards for frequent users of the digital payment service.
