Digital Humanities conference series launches DHd2028 host call following DHd2026 recap

The DHd2026 conference took place in Vienna and featured travel‑grant recipients who documented the event on social media and in blog posts, highlighting the breadth of research presented at the annual Digital Humanities gathering for the German‑speaking region. The conference, organized by the Fachverband Digital Humanities im deutschsprachigen Raum, attracted several hundred participants and showcased workshops, keynotes, and doctoral consortia.

A new call for hosts for DHd2028 has been reissued after an initial lack of applications. The association seeks institutions—preferably from the German‑speaking area outside Germany—to host the fourteenth edition, continuing the tradition of rotating venues that have included universities in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands. The upcoming DHd2027 will be held at the University of Marburg, and the DHd2028 host competition aims to draw up to 650 attendees again.
