Digital identity protection becomes mandatory for financial institutions
The Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) is introducing mandatory identity protection requirements for financial institutions to combat the rising threat of identity-driven cyberattacks. According to a PwC report, stolen or manipulated credentials have become the primary attack vector, surpassing malware and zero-day exploits. The report highlights that generative AI is further complicating the landscape through sophisticated phishing and automated authentication attacks.
In response to digital transformation and regulatory demands, financial service provider finja has partnered with identity service provider AUTHADA. This collaboration aims to digitize identification processes within savings bank branches. By utilizing AUTHADA’s onsite solution, employees can use smartphones or tablets to read ID data via NFC interfaces, significantly reducing the time required for customer data updates and ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering laws.
