Digital literacy and cybersecurity campaigns launched in Togo and Djibouti
In Togo, local authorities in the Avé region, supported by the Ministry of Territorial Administration, held a seminar for digital content creators in Kévé. The session, titled “Youth, social media and local governance,” focused on teaching influencers, bloggers, and TikTokers how to combat disinformation. Participants were encouraged to verify information, respect privacy, and avoid hate speech to protect social cohesion while using digital platforms to promote local economic and cultural development.
In Djibouti, the National Cybersecurity Authority (ANC) is conducting a national awareness campaign throughout October. A recent session at the Arhiba Community Development Center engaged local youth in discussions regarding the risks of digital spaces, including cyberbullying, online blackmail, and exposure to harmful content. The initiative aims to foster a culture of digital prudence and responsibility by bringing cybersecurity education directly into community environments.
