Cloud services revenue projected to exceed $5 trillion by 2031

Cloud services revenue is projected to grow threefold between 2025 and 2031, potentially exceeding $5 trillion annually. According to forecasts from Synergy Research Group, quarterly revenues could surpass $1 trillion by 2030.

This upward revision is largely attributed to the fundamental impact of advanced artificial intelligence technologies. John Dinsdale, chief analyst at Synergy Research Group, noted that since the introduction of ChatGPT four years ago, the firm has significantly increased its main cloud market forecasts.

The market is highly concentrated, with five major players controlling 65 percent of global revenues across IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, search, and social media services. These leaders include Google, Microsoft, Meta, ByteDance, and Amazon. The rapid growth driven by AI demand is creating challenges for hyperscalers and neoclouds to keep pace with market requirements.
