Digital presence becomes critical for Brazilian lawyers

The legal market in Brazil is undergoing a significant shift as potential clients move away from traditional word-of-mouth referrals toward digital research. With approximately 1.49 million registered lawyers in the country, technical excellence is no longer a sufficient differentiator in such a competitive landscape.

Prospective clients now utilize Google, social media, LinkedIn, and artificial intelligence tools to evaluate professionals before making initial contact. Research indicates that Instagram is a primary platform for service recommendations in Brazil, and searches via AI tools have increased nearly fourfold in a single year.

Beyond digital reputation, client experience plays a decisive role in business retention. Data suggests that failures in customer service account for 91% of lost contracts, outweighing technical deficiencies. While digital content helps the public understand legal rights, it also presents challenges, such as the oversimplification or inaccuracy of complex legal matters in short-form social media content.
