Digital screen time linked to brain changes and economic loss

This habit also carries a professional cost; a study by Payless Power suggests that Americans average 3.5 hours of doomscrolling during the workweek, which costs employers an estimated $5,600 per employee annually.

Strategies to mitigate these effects include using grayscale mode to make displays less visually stimulating, turning off non-essential notifications, and setting intentional boundaries to reclaim time for physical activities and social interaction.
