Digital security project launched for Brazilian public school students

The 1st Civil Justice Prosecutor's Office of Chapada dos Guimarães is supporting ‘Por Trás da Tela’ (Behind the Screen), an initiative designed to raise awareness among young people regarding digital security and responsible internet use. Developed by the educational platform New School as part of the ‘Jovens Conectados’ project, the course aims to increase protection for children and adolescents in virtual environments.

The training program consists of six modules covering topics such as data protection, online scams, disinformation, cyberbullying, artificial intelligence, and safe social media interaction. The initiative targets students in elementary and high school across Cuiabá, Chapada dos Guimarães, Nova Brasilândia, and Planalto da Serra, with 13 schools currently participating.

According to Prosecutor Leandro Volochko, the project focuses on providing guidance for digital situations students face daily. New School produces educational content specifically for public school students and those in socially vulnerable communities to promote digital citizenship and critical thinking.
