Digital sexual violence: Experts warn of evolving grooming and online manipulation

Experts are highlighting the evolution of sexual violence within digital environments, specifically regarding grooming, sextortion, and new forms of online manipulation. Psychologist Sonia Almada will present her book, ‘Perversiones sexuales en entornos digitales’, which analyzes how technological expansion has transformed traditional forms of sexual perversion and subjection.

Florencia Córdoba, director of Rama Activa at IPS, warns that society must learn to identify these behaviors to take legal action. She noted that a common mistake when facing digital threats is immediately blocking the aggressor and deleting content, an action that can inadvertently destroy evidence necessary for criminal prosecution.
