Digital skills training expands in Italy through school and employment programs
Italy is seeing significant progress in digital skills training through various educational initiatives. The Accademia Italiana Consulenza Digitale (AICD) has launched a free, online training program specifically for high school students in their third, fourth, and fifth years. This program focuses on preparing students for technological shifts, covering topics such as generative artificial intelligence, digital tools, work organization, and the responsible use of new technologies.
Separately, the EDO-Educazione Digitale per l’Occupazione project, an e-learning initiative promoted by the Ministry of Labour and Social Policies as part of the PNRR GOL Program, has reported over 186,000 completed digital training paths between May 2025 and June 2026. Developed with technical support from Deloitte, the platform aims to bridge the digital divide. Regional data shows Sicily leading with over 35,000 completed courses, followed by Campania and Lombardy.
