Digital sovereignty becomes a strategic priority for French organizations

French companies and public sector organizations are increasingly prioritizing digital sovereignty to mitigate risks of dependency on foreign platforms and cyberattacks. This strategic shift focuses on maintaining control over sensitive data, including industrial secrets, intellectual property, and critical business applications.

Key distinctions are emerging between sovereign cloud, trusted cloud, and the SecNumCloud qualification provided by ANSSI. While many organizations seek high-level security, the challenge lies in identifying which specific data sets require the rigorous protections offered by SecNumCloud versus standard cloud services.

This demand for sovereignty extends to project management tools, which hold sensitive organizational roadmaps and internal reorganizations. Some French providers, such as Bubble Plan, are addressing this by hosting all client data on secure, France-based servers like those provided by OVH to ensure data remains under local legal jurisdiction and protected from extraterritorial legislation.
