Digital technology and AI transform Brazilian political campaigns
Digital tools and artificial intelligence are becoming central to Brazilian political campaigns. In Goiás, candidates are intensifying their use of social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and X to reach diverse regions and mobilize voters, particularly younger demographics. These strategies involve specialized teams using algorithms for audience segmentation and real-time data analysis to adjust campaign messaging.
Looking toward the 2026 elections, the integration of artificial intelligence is expanding beyond social media into backend operations such as data organization, territorial analysis, and voter mobilization. A study by Aláfia Lab and Data Privacy Brasil identified over 280 instances of AI use in national political content throughout 2025. In response, the Superior Electoral Court has updated regulations for 2026, requiring the identification of synthetic content and restricting audiovisual manipulation technologies to address challenges like misinformation.
