Digital technology and health discussed in Mexico and Argentina

Academic and legal institutions in Mexico and Argentina held discussions regarding the impact of digital technology and hyper-technology on human health and well-being.

In Mexico, the University Bioethics Program at the Faculty of Medicine hosted a session titled “Healthy habits to teach and learn in the digital era.” Experts discussed how intensive device use can affect attention, memory, learning, and sleep. Participants emphasized the need to balance digital activities with physical movement, face-to-face interaction, and adequate rest to maintain cognitive processes.

In Argentina, the “Philosophy of Health: Where is Medicine?” seminar was organized by the Foundation for Health Studies (FASAL), the Institute of Health Law, and the National University of the Northeast. The event featured the presentation of a book exploring health through a critical philosophical lens, addressing topics such as artificial intelligence, rejuvenation science, and the environmental components of health. The discussions aimed to promote a more human-centered and ethical approach to medical practice within a highly technological context.
