Digital tools and artificial intelligence are transforming dental practices in Mexico City. Dentists are increasingly utilizing intraoral scanners to create 3D representations of the mouth, replacing traditional plaster molds. This digital ecosystem includes CAD/CAM systems for designing and manufacturing restorations, such as crowns, which can now be produced in hours. AI specifically assists by analyzing information, recognizing patterns, and generating 3D smile designs to show patients potential outcomes.

In parallel, research in South Korea is exploring regenerative dentistry as a potential future alternative to traditional implants. Scientists are investigating biotechnology, cell signaling, and gene therapy to stimulate the natural repair of dental tissues like dentin, enamel, and pulp. While these advancements aim to guide the body to reactivate its own tissues, experts note that tooth regeneration remains in the clinical research phase and is not yet a mass replacement for implants, which remain the standard for tooth replacement.
