Digital terrestrial television updates cause channel re-tuning

Updates to digital terrestrial television multiplexes (Mux) are causing changes in channel availability and numbering for viewers. These updates, involving operators such as Rai, Mediaset, Cairo Communication, and Persidera, can result in duplicate channels or missing stations.

To resolve these issues, users are advised to perform an automatic channel search through their television or decoder menus. In cases where automatic searches fail, a manual search using specific regional frequencies may be necessary. While the transition to the DVB-T2 standard aims to improve high-definition and 4K content delivery, it can temporarily disrupt existing channel mappings.

Despite these shifts, the Logical Channel Number (LCN) system ensures that the primary national channels remain in their standard positions, including Rai 1 through Rai 3, Rete 4, Canale 5, Italia 1, LA7, TV8, and Nove.
