Digital tools and social media reshape financial learning for young adults

Young adults are increasingly utilizing digital platforms such as social media, artificial intelligence, and specialized apps to acquire financial knowledge. While these tools make topics like credit scores and budgeting more accessible, they present challenges in distinguishing reliable education from marketing or entertainment.

Data from FINRA indicates that 60% of investors under the age of 35 use social media as a source of investment information. Additionally, a CFA Institute report noted that approximately one-third of younger investors have used generative AI for financial education.

Experts emphasize that while increased access is beneficial, users must verify information through trusted sources and consider potential conflicts of interest, as digital access does not guarantee that information is accurate or suitable for an individual's specific circumstances.
