In the industrial sphere, connectivity is evolving from a basic service into critical productive infrastructure. Experts at the América Digital 2026 congress noted that high-quality connectivity is essential for the productivity and competitiveness of strategic sectors like mining, energy, and logistics, which increasingly rely on real-time data and automation.
In education, the integration of digital tools presents both opportunities and challenges. While digital platforms offer unprecedented flexibility and global access to knowledge, there are growing concerns regarding “digital surrender”—the risk of technology replacing critical thinking and cognitive effort. Educators and researchers emphasize the importance of balancing technological innovation with human reasoning, noting that tools like generative AI can lead to academic shortcuts if not used as supportive tutors rather than replacements for intellectual work.
Furthermore, efforts are being made to address the digital divide. UNESCO is promoting online courses to help cities develop policies that foster digital inclusion for older adults, ensuring they can participate fully in a contemporary digital society.
