Digital transformation drives vocational training and cooperatives in Vietnam

Digital transformation initiatives in Vietnam are focusing on practical application across vocational training and the cooperative sector.

In vocational education, institutions like FPT PolySchool are adopting blended learning models. This approach uses digital platforms for theoretical knowledge, foundational lessons, and self-study, allowing students to dedicate more time to hands-on technical training, lab work, and real-world projects. The goal is to use technology to prepare knowledge so that in-person sessions can focus on skill mastery and practical competency.

In the cooperative sector, experts emphasize that digital transformation must be driven by problem-solving rather than just technology acquisition. Currently, the digital maturity index for the collective economic sector is estimated at only 29.5%. Successful transformation is expected to rest on three pillars: data, management, and markets. Standardizing data regarding production processes, raw materials, and quality is seen as essential for cooperatives to improve transparency, control costs, and prove product origins to consumers.
