Digital transformation initiatives advance in Angola and Brazil
Angola is investing $28 million to develop a National Digital Identity and Electronic Signature Platform. Authorized by Presidential Decree No. 300/26, the project managed by the Institute of Administrative Modernization aims to support up to 30 million digital identities. This platform intends to provide a single credential for users to access various public services and perform administrative acts digitally, reducing the need for physical presence and repetitive documentation.
In Brazil, discussions regarding municipal digital transformation emphasize that digitalization must go beyond creating web portals. The Permanent Commission for Digital Transformation and Disruption (CPT2D) of the TCE-MT highlights the importance of governance and transparency. This includes promoting active transparency, where municipalities proactively disclose information of collective interest, and passive transparency, where citizens receive requested data, as supported by the Access to Information Law.
