Digital transformation initiatives launched in Burkina Faso and Senegal
In Burkina Faso, the National Agency for Information Systems Security (ANSSI) has officially launched the National Network of Information Systems Security Officers (RSSI) and cyber focal points. Director General Oumarou Sanou stated that the network aims to create a permanent framework for consultation, coordination, and information sharing to combat growing cyber threats such as phishing, ransomware, and data leaks during the country's digital transition.
In Senegal, Meta Public Policy Manager Serge Mbengue discussed the importance of human-centric digital transformation at the EGOVA 2026 salon. Highlighting the digitalization of judicial procedures, such as online criminal record requests, Mbengue noted that successful dematerialization requires the support of public officials. He cited the Senegalese Ministry of Justice's strategy of redeploying staff from automated tasks to more complex human-centric roles to mitigate resistance to digital change.
