Digital transformation initiatives launched in Phocis and Karditsa

Several regional entities in Greece are undergoing digital transformations through new funding and technological upgrades.

The Phocis Chamber of Commerce has secured €109,281.20 from the Regional Development Program of Central Greece 2026-2030. The project aims to upgrade digital infrastructure by migrating information systems to a cloud environment, integrating digital signatures and electronic invoicing, and developing a mobile application. Other planned features include an AI digital assistant for the website, an electronic marketplace for local products, and a platform for electronic voting and consultations.

In Karditsa, the Municipality has signed an agreement worth €673,075.06, funded by the Ministry of Digital Governance, to implement various smart city technologies. The nine-month project includes the installation of smart bus stops, smart pedestrian crossings, and energy management systems for municipal and school buildings. Additionally, the municipality will implement a smart warning system for natural disasters such as floods, fires, and earthquakes, alongside a digital city guide and digitized library catalogs.
