Digital transformation initiatives target Brazilian municipal public management
Efforts to modernize municipal public administration through digital transformation are gaining momentum in Brazil. In Salvador, Serpro, in partnership with the Union of Municipalities of Bahia (UPB) and the Federal Institute of Bahia (IFBA), will host the SerproDay 2026 event. The meeting aims to present digital solutions and innovation experiences to help municipal managers improve efficiency and security in sectors such as health, education, and social assistance.
Key topics for the Salvador event include the implementation of the Electronic Information System (SEI), tax reform implications, cloud storage, data protection, and the use of digital identity for legal document signatures. The initiative also focuses on technologies to prevent fraud in the granting of benefits.
In Lages, the Secretary of Innovation and Technology, Thiago Mazuhy Andrade, has highlighted the necessity of digitalizing various municipal sectors. He emphasized that a primary challenge is not only implementing new tools but also training public servants to effectively utilize these technological advancements.
