Digital trust infrastructure expands amid AI-driven fraud risks
The rise of artificial intelligence is driving a “trust arms race” as fraudsters use the technology to create more convincing fake identities, manipulated documents, and large-scale scams. In response, companies are investing heavily in digital trust infrastructure to identify suspicious patterns and anomalies that traditional systems might miss.
ASX-listed Stakk is nearing the completion of a US$63 million acquisition of US-based ParaScript, a move intended to integrate AI-powered document intelligence and fraud detection into its existing digital trust capabilities.
Simultaneously, international efforts are advancing the infrastructure for digital identity. At the Global Digital Collaboration Conference in Geneva, collaborations between organizations such as ISO, IEC, DIN, and the OpenWallet Foundation announced the release of free international standards for mobile driver’s licenses and digital ID wallets. These developments aim to facilitate trust in remote interactions and digital operations across different jurisdictions.
