Digitalization initiatives expand in Bahia's tourism and commerce sectors
New technological initiatives are being implemented in Bahia, Brazil, to modernize local commerce and tourism. In Ilhéus, TAP FY Payments, part of the Gateway group, has established a physical presence to provide payment solutions including POS, Smart POS, and Point of Sale (PDV) systems. The company aims to support local entrepreneurs and retailers by offering integrated technological resources for transaction management.
Simultaneously, the Commercial and Business Association of Cairu (ACEC), in partnership with Cashpago, is launching an integrated ecosystem for the destinations of Morro de São Paulo and Boipeba. This project features an Official Sales Portal designed to connect local tourism businesses—such as hotels, inns, and tour operators—directly with travel agents and consumers. The initiative seeks to shift the focus toward experience-based travel and position the region as a pioneer in organized digital tourism ecosystems in Brazil.
