Dijon protests force postponement of public resilience event

In Dijon, the Gilets jaunes movement and various labor unions, including CGT de Côte-d’Or and Solidaires 21, gathered at Place de la République on Saturday, October 17, 2026. The mobilization focuses on socio-economic concerns such as purchasing power, wages, working conditions, and the defense of public services.

Due to the planned protest, the prefecture of Côte-d’Or has postponed the “Journée de la résilience,” a major public event dedicated to major risk prevention and emergency preparedness. Originally scheduled for the same location and time, the event was deferred to an unspecified later date to avoid organizational and security complications arising from the simultaneous demonstration.
