Diket releases debut album ‘Diket i Solen i Diket’

Norwegian indie folk band Diket has released their first full-length album, ‘Diket i Solen i Diket’, via the Supertraditional label. The record is structured around seasonal transitions, utilizing lyrics that track the progression of months and weather patterns to create a narrative of everyday life.

The music blends traditional Nordic folk with elements of minimalism, indie pop, and progressive folk rock. The album features Levina Storåkern on vocals, kantele, and violin, with band members drawn from established groups including Benedikt, Ævestaden, Låssasom, and Trondheims Hey Gloria.

Lyrical themes explore loneliness, belonging, love, and financial insecurity, often using Oslo as a central point of reference. The recording is characterized by an atmospheric full-band sound that moves through various seasonal scenes, from January slush to June sunlight.
