Dilip Ghosh calls for probe into Jharkhand paper leaks

West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh has called for an impartial investigation into the recurring paper leaks in Jharkhand, stating that student protests regarding the issue are justified. He emphasized the need to identify irregularities to ensure transparency in the examination system and address student grievances.

Addressing the use of loudspeakers at religious sites, Ghosh noted that thousands of microphones were removed because they were installed without legal permission from the police or courts and exceeded permitted noise levels. He mentioned that the Calcutta High Court recently dismissed a PIL regarding these removals and clarified that regulations apply to all religious sites, not just mosques.

Furthermore, Ghosh raised concerns regarding widespread corruption within West Bengal, alleging that even institutions tasked with preventing corruption are compromised, specifically questioning the role of the police.
