Dilip Ghosh defends BRICS Summit vegetarian menu against Congress criticism

West Bengal Minister Dilip Ghosh has responded to criticism from Congress leaders regarding the vegetarian menu served during a high-profile dinner at the BRICS Summit. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi criticized the decision, noting on social media that 80 per cent of Indians are non-vegetarian.

Ghosh defended the menu, stating that the foreign delegates who attended the dinner praised the Indian cuisine and had no complaints. He suggested that Congress leaders should focus on public issues rather than questioning the food served to international guests.

The dinner featured over 10 vegetarian dishes, including starters like Khumb Galauti, main courses such as paneer, mushrooms, and millet pulao, and desserts including Shahdoot Firni and fruit cream with jalebi.
