Dilip Ghosh leads consumer rights awareness program in Kolkata

As part of Consumer Rights Protection Week, the Department of Consumer Affairs organized a special awareness program at the Khudiram Planning Bhavan in Kolkata. The event aimed to educate citizens on their rights and protect them from market fraud.

Minister Dilip Ghosh attended the program, urging consumers to remain vigilant when purchasing goods and services. He emphasized that individuals must be aware of their rights to take appropriate action and encouraged them to file formal complaints with the relevant department if they encounter fraudulent activities.

The campaign utilized street plays and live demonstrations to convey essential information. Specific guidance was provided on purchasing gold jewelry, including checking for hallmarks, purity, and proper documentation. Additionally, demonstrations focused on safety standards for LPG gas cylinders, such as verifying seals and weight.
