Diljit Dosanjh releases ‘Devil’ music video featuring protest imagery

Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh has released the music video for ‘Devil’, a track from his latest EP, ‘I’m an Artist Bro’. The video has sparked significant online debate due to its visual themes, which depict intense scenes of student protesters clashing with police forces.

In the opening sequences, Dosanjh is shown at the front of a crowd of demonstrators holding signs such as ‘Save Our Future’ and ‘Our Future, Our Fight’. The imagery includes police officers on horseback and scenes of escalating confrontations involving batons and tear gas. One symbolic moment features a young girl walking toward the police line while carrying a white rose.

While the song itself focuses on Dosanjh’s fearless persona, his reputation, and his international ambitions, netizens have questioned whether the use of protest imagery serves as social commentary or is being used to enhance personal branding. The track was produced by Intense with lyrics written by Hizzy Hundal.
