Dillon Brooks charged with misdemeanor DUI in Arizona

Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks has been officially charged with a Class 1 misdemeanor driving under the influence (DUI) in Scottsdale, Arizona. The charge follows an arrest on March 6, during which officers reported smelling marijuana from his vehicle and observed signs of impairment.

Brooks is scheduled for a court appearance on October 28. This legal matter is separate from other pending charges involving reckless driving and speeding related to a January arrest, for which he has a court date on November 9.

The Phoenix Suns confirmed the charge in a statement, noting they have addressed the matter with Brooks. The player, a native of Mississauga, Ontario, recently signed a three-year, $73 million contract extension with the team. His attorney, Larry Kazan, stated that Brooks respects the legal process and intends to allow the matter to proceed through the courts.
