DIMAAG and Toshiba partner on energy storage for AI data centers
DIMAAG-AI, Inc. and Toshiba International Corporation have announced a collaboration to develop next-generation energy storage solutions specifically designed for AI infrastructure. The partnership will integrate Toshiba’s SCiB lithium titanium oxide (LTO) battery technology with DIMAAG’s active-flow immersion-cooled battery architecture.
The resulting technology is intended for use within DIMAAG’s ZettaWatt Power Platform, a modular grid-to-800 VDC architecture. The system aims to address the intense power demands of large-scale AI workloads by providing load smoothing, low-voltage ride-through, backup power, and grid stabilization.
Key technical targets for the collaboration include supporting continuous 10C charge and discharge cycling with a targeted service life of over 10 years. The platform is designed to meet ERCOT requirements and can smooth cyclic AI load fluctuations to less than 1% from the perspective of the power grid.
