Dimapur commemorates 350th martyrdom anniversary of Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji

A three-day commemorative programme was held in Dimapur from August 28 to 30 to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. The event was organized by the Ministry of Culture in collaboration with the North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) and Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha.

The observance, which is part of a year-long national commemoration, included religious ceremonies such as the Arambh Sri Akhand Path Sahib, an Evening Diwan, and the Bhog Sri Akhand Path Sahib. Participants included members of the Sikh community, devotees, community leaders, and local guests. The programme featured Shabad Kirtan by Bhai Harpal Singh & Sons and included community meals such as Langar.

During the closing ceremony, NEZCC Director Alobo Naga highlighted the values of courage, compassion, and religious tolerance embodied by Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Dr. Pritpal Kaur Batra, IPS, DIG, CID, attended the ceremony as the chief guest.
