Dimensional Fund Advisors Cuts Stakes in Vale and STMicroelectronics

Dimensional Fund Advisors LP reduced its position in Brazil's miner Vale S.A. by 13.6% in the first quarter, selling 978,972 shares. After the sale the fund held 6,204,941 shares, representing 0.14% of Vale and valued at about $98.7 million.

In the same filing the firm also trimmed its stake in Swiss semiconductor producer STMicroelectronics N.V., selling 126,798 shares and lowering its holding by 4.1%. Dimensional now owns 2,936,396 shares, or 0.33% of STMicroelectronics, worth roughly $101.4 million.
