Dimitar Berbatov's drastic weight loss ahead of nationwide performance tour

Former Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov has shocked fans by losing a large amount of body mass, now weighing about 70 kg at 1.89 m tall. He attributes the change to a strict vegan diet that excludes all animal products and relies on vegetables, nuts, grains and legumes, a regimen he began during the COVID‑19 pandemic after a personal health crisis. Despite concerns, Berbatov says he feels energetic and healthy.

Berbatov will launch his autobiographical stage show “Decoding” on 9 September in his hometown of Blagoevgrad, followed by a 14‑city tour across Bulgaria. Tickets are priced between 20 and 40 euros, considerably lower than a concurrent event by fellow football legend Hristo Stoichkov. The production is directed by Yana Titova with original music by Vladimir Ampov‑Graf. Berbatov’s statements emphasise his commitment to the vegan lifestyle and his excitement for the upcoming performances.
