Dimitar Kisimov finishes sixth at Junior Masters in Chengdu
Bulgarian tennis player Dimitar Kisimov finished in sixth place at the Junior Masters tournament in Chengdu, China. The event features the top eight under-18 players in the world and is the only junior tennis tournament that includes a prize fund.
Kisimov competed in a fifth-place playoff against Australia's Tilo Berman, ultimately losing the match with a score of 3:6, 7:6(4), 4:6. This follows an earlier encounter between the two players during the tournament where Kisimov lost 6:7(0), 6:7(3).
Kisimov is the fourth Bulgarian player to reach the finals of this elite junior tournament, following Adrian Andreev and Iliyan Radulov, who both finished third, and Aleksandar Vasilev, who placed eighth last year. His 2026 season has included notable achievements such as winning the junior doubles title at the Australian Open alongside South Africa's Connor Doig, reaching the quarterfinals of the Wimbledon junior singles, and securing his first men's professional singles title at a World Tennis Tour event in Serbia.
