Dimitar Zhelyazkov's Mercedes-Maybach torched at Sunzhen Beach, Bulgaria
On the night of 29 July, around 23:00, a Mercedes‑Maybach used by 54‑year‑old Dimitar Zhelyazkov, known as “Mityo Ochi”, was deliberately set on fire in the parking area of the Marak‑1 complex in Sunzhen Beach, Nesebar, Bulgaria. Police and fire crews responded quickly, containing the blaze before it spread to nearby vehicles.
Investigators have ruled out accidental causes and are treating the incident as arson. A pre‑trial investigation has been opened, with video surveillance showing a silhouette approaching the car. Authorities are examining motives ranging from personal disputes to business conflicts. The vehicle, owned by a Burgas businessman and previously on lease, was being driven by Zhelyazkov’s former police driver at the time. The case is being handled by the Nesebar police and the Burgas regional prosecutor’s office.
