Dimitris Diamantidis returns to Panathinaikos basketball club

Former Panathinaikos captain Dimitris Diamantidis has rejoined the Greek basketball club in an administrative capacity. The club confirmed his return after a brief meeting with owner Dimitris Giannakopoulos, marking the comeback of the player who won 22 titles with Panathinaikos from 2004 to 2016 before retiring in June 2016.

Diamantidis will again work alongside long‑time coach Zeljko Obradović and other familiar staff. He said he feels “like I’m home” and emphasized that “titles don’t matter; we will work together for the team we love.” Details of his exact role will be defined in the coming weeks.
